Dr. H. Arul hails from Chennai, having completed his under graduation in Physics from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College (Autonomous) under University of Madras. He had continued his post graduation in Physics specialisation in Electronics from VIT University, Vellore. He had been appointed as Project engineer in Analog system design for a period of nine months in L&T Infotech Limited, Chennai. After clearing Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering in Physics with All India Ranking of 142, he had been appointed as a Junior Research Fellow in a Indo-Japan funded project by DST-SERB, New Delhi, India and JSPS, Tokyo, Japan in VIT University, Vellore. This work mainly focused on fabrication of optical waveguides in T-Rays domain spectroscopy. This project also helps him to earn his PhD degree in Physics. After the completion of the project, he had been appointed a Senior Research Associate in the project of H2 energy evolution using photo catalytic water splitting based on novel nano composites funded by joint venture of CSIR, New Delhi, India and Israel research foundation.

Completion of Ph.D landed him as Assistant Professor of Physics and Deputy Director (Academics) in Kumaraguru College of Technology (Autonomous), Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. His current profession includes teaching of Engineering Physics and Materials science to budding engineers. Design and development of curriculum of M.Tech Nanoscience and Nanotechnology programme of the host institution. His current research work was majorly focused on alternate energy resources using novel nanostructured materials. Design and development of new encoded Bio-mimetic materials for allograph and prosthetic materials.
